Integrative & Lifestyle Medicine.

Find a new way.

Integrative & Lifestyle Medicine is a model of healthcare in which conventional medicine is integrated with alternative modalities to customize an optimal treatment plan.  It can be characterized as healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person (body, mind & spirit), including all aspects of lifestyle.

Integrative & Lifestyle Medicine is uniquely personalized and centers on understanding the prevention, management and root causes of complex chronic disease.  This brand of medicine develops patient care plans that are highly customized where the relationship between patient and physician effectively becomes a partnership in healing the person with the condition, not simply treating the symptoms.

Integrative & Lifestyle Medicine Details.

What is Integrative & Lifestyle Medicine?

Integrative & Lifestyle Medicine is a holistic medical discipline which takes into account the lifestyle habits of a patient and the root causes of complex conditions. The physician works to treat the whole person (rather than just symptoms of the disease) to promote healing and well-being.

Integrative & Lifestyle Medicine uses a combination of modern healthcare practices and alternative modalities, such as interactive diagnostic therapy, to customize a treatment plan incorporating high-enzyme nutrition, phytoceuticals, and a personalized strategy that considers the patient’s unique conditions, needs and circumstances.  The physician helps determine the most appropriate interventions from an array of scientific disciplines to heal illness and disease and help people regain and maintain optimum health.

What is phytotherapy?  What are phytoceuticals?

Phytotherapy, also called botanical medicine or herbalism, is a science-based medical practice that uses plants or plant extracts for medicinal purposes.  Phytotherapy has been used for centuries to stimulate and strengthen the body’s normal functions, helping the body to heal itself naturally.  Herbal medicine tends to be more gentle than pharmaceuticals and have fewer side effects which makes it a safer form of treatment for most people.

How long is each visit?

Approximately 1 hour.

How often should I get treated?

Depending on your target goals or the severity of illness, the number of visits is highly personalized and will be discussed with Dr. Avaness based on the short- and long- term treatment plan.
